Join Us On Our Family Expansion Journey! ^.^ Day 1: First Course of Letrozole

December 1st, 2025

Oh the classic Journal Prompt Style & the nostalgia it evokes of years long past.

Hello, everyone! Welcome to my blog! If you landed here, it's bc you're interested in my closed, Blk Ntv cultural experience. Well here it is. Ta-dah! It's gonna be camp af, explicit, intimate, & private.

Today is Day 1 of My First Course of Letrozole Treatment.

The Goal: It's My Turn To Get Pregnant

My culture believes strongly in the idea of deliberate, conscious conception as the ideal framework for a healthy pregnancy & a solid, healthy family dynamic. This is the tail end of the Year of The Snake. I am 36 years old as I attempt to get conceive & carry to term for the first time. Ironically none of this is new. I've watched my sibling, multiple partners, & my best friends have multiple, successful pregnancies over the last 15 years or so. I've seen struggles, challenges, & success. I've seen tragedies in the form of stillbirths & births that were emergency caesarian sections. I've had the privilege of witnessing natural births in person & been the first to receive pictures of water births. One thing I will stress as I document this process in a more public way for the first time as the family griot, I recognize the sovereign rights of all ppl to choose the safest options for their families as they attempt expansion into the future.

My desires are very general. But I will voice them in a summarized way over time. My first desire is simply a healthy, safe pregnancy w/ minimal complications. I've done all the work on my end to assure the best foundation to attempt to conceive our first child.

  • 1/22/2024 - I had the Roux En Y Gastric bypass surgery to treat my pre-diabetic PCOS body. It took 10 months of qualifying, w/ 24 injections of Ozempic & dietary scrutiny.

  • 1/22/2025 - I received approval of my surgery team to enter post-surgery maintenance.

  • 6/07/2025 - I got married & went off my long term vaginal ring hormonal birth control

  • 9/22/2025 - We got the greenlight to attempt conception

  • 11/28/2025 - We finalized the house purchase in Nagaoka

  • 12/1/2025 - Today! First Day of Letrozole to force my body to ovulate.

My doctors say I'm at a good weight! From when I first entered my OBGYN's office asking for a bariatric referral, to this day almost 2 years after surgery, I've lost 100lbs! I tipped the scales at my heaviest weight being 279lbs! As of weigh day, which is every Saturday, I'm 172lbs.

I did a solid amount of fundraising work & #GrowFood #education content this summer after getting married. I feel like I should spend the remainder of the year reviewing all the cool stuff I got to do & the amazing businesses, services, & individuals that made this year a pleasurable year of satisfaction.

So today, I woke annoyed that the county was cutting & chipping trees right outside my window lmao! Morale is high! I made coffee & took my first dose of medicine along with my new blood pressure meds. I've spent most of the day finishing my hair retightening & the remainder caring for myself, my mama, & the dog. I also baked a batch of protein brownies, gave my hair a hot oil treatment, spent time thinking about the way I want the first allocare facility established.

As for this blog, I know I want to spend time documenting more of our closed culture so the next generation has a record of practices that continue being erased broadly; as the American genocides of my Blk Ntv Ppl continues. Leaving this record will be invaluable for the cousins, nieces, & relatives i am estranged from; to have & hold, knowing they were considered despite my not being a direct ancestor. In the chance that I don't survive the attempt to expand my family, let it be documented our way of life, our values, our way of being, into the future of prosperity.
